Shermeena Rabbi, the director of Unlocking language and Harley Street Speech Therapist.

Shermeena worked with both adults and children in the NHS an private sectors for over 10years prior to the success of her two private speech and language therapy practices. She has a portfolio of exclusive clients, which includes royalty, cooperate and diplomats.

She is a medico-legal expert in the field of adult acquired communication and swallowing disorders. She has a special interest in brain injury and has had extensive cognitive training that she incorporates into her treatment. Her experience comes from working at excellent institutes such as the Wellington Hospital, The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability, Globe Academy, Stanmore Spinal Injury Unit and Afasic. She believes in developing innovative, result-driven approaches in order to provide truly holistic and patient focused therapy.

Shermeena’s other specialisms are children with speech and language difficulties, dyspraxia and autism.  She has an interest in bilingual communication disorders and is fluent in South Asian languages.  She has written papers and presented at conferences focusing on developing the social and functional skills of young people with social-communication disorders.

Diana Williams
Consultant speech & language therapist

Diana Williams, Paediatric Speech & Language Therapist with Harley Street speech therapists

Speciality: Paediatrics, SEN reports and tribunals, medico-legal expert, Dyspraxia, Speech Disorders.

Diana is extremely enthusiastic about her job and the opportunities to maximise each child’s / young person’s potential by working closely with the adults that know them best. She has worked in a variety of nursery, primary and secondary school settings, providing direct intervention to individual children and small groups, as well as delivering training and demonstrating activities to relevant adults. Diana has experience of writing statement reports for children with special educational needs as well as collaborating with setting staff and parents/carers about appropriate targets.

Diana has a special interest in children/young people with speech sound difficulties (e.g. Developmental Verbal Dyspraxia) and Specific Language Impairment (SLI), but is passionate about developing the communication abilities of all children she works with.

Rona Mataba

Rona Mataba, ABA therapist in Harley Street Speech Therapist

Rona is a consultant in ABA. She has worked for almost 10 years and was previously the ABA supervisor at Tree House School – an organisation with successful ABA techniques. Rona works both in the home and school settings following the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis. She ensures effective delivery of programmes using ABA practice including behaviour management in dealing with challenging behaviour.

Her expertise in ABA includes promoting communication, self-help skills, social skills, food tolerance, daily life skills and school integration. Her other specialities include providing training with ABA tutors as well as other professionals in implementing the teaching methods of ABA. Her goal is to provide tools through ABA for children with autism and their families to create positive lives.

ABA stands for Applied Behaviour Analysis and works by using techniques and principles to bring about meaningful and positive change in behaviour. ABA fosters basic skills such as attention and listening, daily life skills, motor skills and many more. At Unlocking Language we combine ABA and speech therapy approaches which yield excellent results in children with Autism.
